Q.P.R. 1

Manchester City 1

C.Kiwomya K.Horlock

The day started badly. I have been pretty ill over the last five days. So I was 50/50 to get to the game today. My heart ruled my head and I went but I have a feeling I could regret this action later on tonight as the pain is coming back now.

So I left the house at 20 past 2 for the ten-minute walk to the ground. It seemed to take longer than usual today and getting into the ground was a bit of a nightmare. Ellersilie Road was packed and rather than just walk as you do in the loft I had to queue for a few minutes.

I got to my seat nice and early, I was just two seats away from the Q Block in the R Block Ellerlise Road. Great atmosphere pre game. The songs started early "We Are QPR", Followed by We Love you Rangers and One Jamie Pollock.

The teams came out to a huge roar with every player's name cheered. The game started pretty scrappy. Rangers were battling hard in midfield but Manchester City seemed to have a touch more class in players such as Bishop, Horlock and Kennedy.

The threat of Kennedy was constant, he was dangerous on the ball and produced some good crosses but did not dominate the game like many feared. Rangers did create some chances though and Ian Baraclough hit a screamer of a shot, which went just over into the packed School end.

The Rangers fans were very loud singing our hearts out for the lads and telling everyone who we are. City began to get on top and Kennedy did well to make space and hit a good shot low to Harpers right but the keeper saved well. Ian Wrights son, Shaun Phillips caused Rangers problems with his electric pace and skill but the man who will be known as Mini Ian Wright was very wayward with his finishing.

Rangers should have took the lead through Rob Steiner who was fast becoming the target of abuse from City fans. Rob found himself clean through ala Portsmouth but hit a pathetic shot straight at Weaver. Steiner was getting stick for an outrageous dive, which almost got Jobson booked. That played against Rob for the rest of the game as many fouls on him went unpunished. I suppose you could say the ref evened things out.

The Loft erupted just six minutes before half time. The ball was bobbing around and Baraclough tried another long range shot, it was blocked but the ball bounced through for Kiwomya who finished as only Kiwomya can by making the easiest chance look difficult. No complaints from me though as we all go mad and sing Pig Bag along with 1-0 to the Superhoops.

Rangers hung on till half time as City came forward but we should have got another right on half time. A similar chance to his second against Palace last year, but this time Kiwomya lobbed against post. Half time saw QPR play the eight choices for what the team will run out too. I am 23 years old and not an old foggy. But I found all eight to be absolute shite and whoever picked them please step forward for some musical taste. Some one lend him some quality music please!

Second Half started with City on top. They had more of the ball but the game was till very scrappy with chances few and far between. Kennedy was Citys biggest threat putting in dangerous crosses for Taylor and Lee Peacock who replaced Mini Ian Wright at half time. A goal was coming and Horlock went close just before the goal with his strong running from midifeld. His goal was a nice finish but Matthew Rose was millimetre's away from getting the ball off Horlcocks boot.

Rangers rallied and the supporters found their voices. A series of corners almost got us in front but Nicky Weaver was very commanding in goal. Then a change and Kevin Gallen replaced Matt Rose to a standing ovation. All those who booed Kev a few weeks ago against Blackburn were now kissing his arse. Kev Played very well, a great run on the right saw him produce a good cross (possibly miss hit but he deserves credit for it coming off), and Keith Rowland fired high and wide when he should have scored.

Horlock hit a screamer of a shot, which went just wide, but for the life of me I can't remember when this happened. Langley then came on for the dreadful Rowland and a few more corners gave us hope. Sadly it was only hope and Rob Steiners shot high into the loft was out last chance. A draw with the top team, a good result and great atmosphere though it was still only Q, P and R block doing most of the singing.

Man of the Match: Danny Maddix : A tough choice today as no one player stood out but Danny was as solid as ever.

Player by Player

Harper - a few dodgy kicks but made a good save from Kennedy and had no chance with the goal. 7/10

Darlington - Did better than many thought he would against Kennedy and produced some nice crosses. 7/10

Baraclough - Almost scored a screamer and defended well at left wing back. 7/10

Ready - Made a few mistakes but did plenty of good things too. 7/10

Rose - Reasonable, but not up to his best. Looked hesitant at times.

Maddix - Usual solid performance, How many times will I say that this season? 8/10

Murray - Worked very hard, had some nice touches but gave the ball away a lot. Worth his place in the team though. 7/10

Wardley - Worked very hard again but failed to impose himself in midfield. 6/10

Rowland - I am not a fan of his, I thought he was average as ever today. 5/10

Kiwomya - Scored one missed one but I will be kind today. He played well today as he has done for the last few weeks. 7/10

Steiner - Tried hard but moaned a bit too much to the ref and falls over to easily 6/10

Subs:

Gallen - Superb, as a Gallen fan I was proud of the boy today, but can he do it for 90 minutes?? 8/10

Langley - Not on long and I don't think he touched the ball. Although I am sure I will be proved wrong by someone?
