A poor performance
by QPR today in a disappointing derby game. Neither side seemed
really up for it as fighting broke out between supporters due to
Fulham FC being greedy and selling tickets to anyone in home areas.
Rangers started
reasonable creating a few half chances but never really threatened.
The battle between Horsefield and Maddix produced the main talking
point. Despite being fouled over and over again, Danny Maddix could
not get a free kick. At the other end, Rob Steiner was been pulled
up for petty offences, which Horsefield was getting away with.
The Rangers
back three looked a shambles at times under no pressure and giving
the ball away in dangerous areas. One of these cock-ups ended in
Horsefield being brought down for a very dodgy looking free kick.
The free kick was aimed straight at Ludo but he dropped the ball
for Paul Peschisolido to tap home the games only goal.
The goal had
been coming but neither side deserved to be in front at this stage.
Another foul went against Maddix and Steiner voiced his opinion.
He was booked and that proved vital to the game.
As Rangers
seemed to get back in the game Steiner appeared to be brought down
in the box. To be honest I couldn't see and only television pictures
will show what happened but Steiner was sent off for diving. Now
by the letter of the law this is correct but this ref was a joke
and failed to book Horsefield, Trollope and Pechisolido for the
same offence.
The sending
off ruined the game for me as Rangers were unlikely to score with
2 up front but with one it was not gonna be easy. Hugh Grant appeared
at Half time to plenty of chants from the section I was in which
I couldn't possibly print here. Gallen came on for the second half
but for some reason he was given balls over the top all game and
his lack of pace made this a waste of time.
Richard Langley
was the bright spot of the game. He gave a brilliant performance
of skill and vision and deserved to be on the winning team. It is
just a shame his teamates were so poor on the day. Rangers had a
few half chances but nothing of real note. They lacked any urgency
to get a goal back and some woeful finishing by Fulham kept the
scoreline down.
Rangers once
again let down a large travelling support and didn't deserve the
standing ovation at the end.

Match: Richard Langley
Player by
Player
1. Ludo Miklosko
: Poor game, looked uncertain at times and made a mistake for the
goal, He did make one great double save in the second half and he's
better than Bankole. 6/10
20. Tony Scully:
He had a poor game. He never once ran at Brevett. We all know Brevett
would have fouled him and got booked but Scully seemed to bottle
it and his crossing was very poor 5/10
3. Ian Baraclough:
Another who was poor. His crossing was dreadful and he can play
so much better. 6/10
5.Karl Ready
: Had a terrible game back to his old self many will say. He was
given the run around by the Fulham forwards. 4/10
6. Danny Maddix
: Danny had a very poor game by his standards. He looked like he
had never played with his team mates before 4/10
12. Matt Rose
: Played OK, made a few mistakes but was one of the better players
6/10
27. Stuart
Wardley : A disappointing perforce by Stuart. He gave the ball away
to much and to cheaply but almost nicked a goal in the first half.
6/10
8. Gavin Peacock
: Ran his heart out again but not as dangerous as he should have
been. He was another who under performed. 6/10
21. Richard
Langley: Some of his skill was brilliant, he left players for dead
with his backheels and turns and his final ball was better. Shame
we had no one to finish it off.
9. Rob Steiner:
Unlucky to be sent off but was playing crap and I would have taken
him of at half time. 4/10
11. Chris Kiwomya
: Did he play?? He fell over ran around that's about it. In his
defence he had no service at all. 4/10
Subs
10. Kevin Gallen.
Played very badly but was given no chance with balls in air. We
played it into his feet twice and both times we almost scored. He
didn't deserve the stick he got from the Rangers fans. 6/10
Supporters:
Very quiet I thought, We sang in patches and were noisier on the
way home than during the game. We were still much louder than the
Fulham fans who sat in near silence for 90 minutes.
