Another away
day misery for QPR but an encouraging performance in some areas.
Rangers started well, defending superbly and restricting Birmingham
to long range efforts. Stuart Wardley missed a great chance to put
Rangers one up but put his shot high and wide.
Rangers almost
scored after a bizarre incident with a free kick. Peacocks kick
went high into the stand before he was booked for time wasting and
ordered to take it again. The booking seemed fair but the re take
baffling. Baraclough had a go the next time and forced Poole into
a good save.
A series of
corners followed and Rangers looked dangerous. Birmingham came back
well and had a goal disallowed for offside and almost scored with
a great volley from Ndlovu but Karl Ready did brilliantly to head
the ball wide.(I don't think he knew much about it to be honest)
From the corner Birmingham were given a penalty for a foul on Furlong.
From my seat it looked outside the box and tv evidence proves this.
Furlong scored from the spot which seem to lift the home team into
a much better second half from their point of view.
They started
the second half brightly and began to run at Rangers but the QPR
defence and Matthew Rose in particular stopped everything thrown
at them. Another amazing penalty decision was given after Rangers
appeared to weathering the storm and getting back in the game. Furlong
scored again and it was game over.
Ludo Miklosko
seemed to pick up a shoulder injury and was replaced by Lee Harper.
Harper made one outstanding save from Furlong and looked much better
than he did for the reserves in mid week. Rangers created little
in the second half, Scully and Gallen came on but Scullys inability
to cross a ball and Steiners reluctance to jump meant that we weren't
gonna score.
One final incident
saw Gary Rowett try and get Kiwomya sent off. Kiwomya swung an elbow
but clearly missed and Rowett went down as if the sniper had got
him. Disgraceful from the experienced defender. Noone was booked
but Kiwomya could have been sent off.
Man of the
Match: Matthew Rose

Player
1. Ludo Miklosko
: Better than last week, made a few saves and lets hope his injury
isn't bad. 6/10
22. Jermaine
Darlington : Much better defensively from Jermaine. He kept Lazardis
quiet and put some great crosses into the box during the first half.
7/10
3 Ian Baraclough:
Good at the back but again poor going forward. 6/10
5.Karl Ready
: Very good performance in my opinion. He was strong and brave but
did lose the ball too much. 6/10
6. Danny Maddix
: Again defensively he was good but he gave the ball away too much.
6/10
12. Matt Rose
: Outstanding! He was here, there every bloody where. Superb 9/10
27. Stuart
Wardley : I like Wardley, he gives 110% every game. His passing
was again poor but he never gave up and is very promising 6/10
8. Gavin Peacock
: Poor game from Gavin, he worked hard as he always does but his
creative contribution was not what it should have been 5/10
21. Richard
Langley: He can play much better than this. He gave the ball away
too much and his head seemed to go down after the second goal. 5/10
9. Rob Steiner:
Rubbish, was he playing, but he did have no service 3/10
11. Chris Kiwomya
: Rubbish, was he playing, but he did have no service 3/10
Subs
10. Kevin Gallen.
He had a go and had to track back a lot but he was never gonna score.

20. Tony Scully
: At least he ran at people today but his crossing was poor. 5/10
