Rangers were unchanged from the team that won at Cardiff at Tuesday.

Bolton started well and got a penalty after 11 minutes after a scramble in the penalty area. Dean Holdsworth scored from the spot to give Bolton the lead. Rangers fought back but Bolton stayed on top looking the more likely to ad to the early goal.

Rangers got back in the game on 38 minutes when Chris Kiwomya broke clear and was brought down for another penalty. Gavin Peacock scored from the spot to keep the scores level at half time.

Bolton got back on top after half time and Gudjohnsen made it 2-1 after Miklosko parried a shot from Holdsworth.

Rangers fought hard and Kiwomya and Gallen both hit the woodwork in the dying minutes.
