QPR 0

Blackburn 0

A big game for QPR today against one of the favourites for automatic promotion. QPR started off as they finished last week looking very lacklustre and Blackburn looked like scoring very early.

A few half chances fell to Rovers before Rangers began to find their feet. A quick break away involving Gallen, Wardley and Peacock ended in a great chance for Kiwomya who missed a sitter when clean through. Wardley then saw a header go over the bar before Kiwomya and Peacock both missed good chances.

At the other end, Lee Harper was looking comfortable and made a good save from a Per Frandson shot. Chris Kiwomya was again involved in the games most controversial incident. Kiwomya was sent through by Gallen and was brought down by the keeper. A free kick was given but as the keeper was the last man a red card should have followed but didn't. This proved to be the only mistake the ref made as I thought he was the best ref we have had all season.

Kevin Gallen was linking up well with the midfield and he created a great chance for Peacock. Peacocks shot was well saved but Langley was on hand for a simple tap in. Unfortunately the QPR youngster tried to be a bit to clever and his lovely chip hit the bar and rolled along the line.

At half time Rangers were a little unlucky to not be in front but the teams lack of possession was a little worrying. Blackburn started the second half well again keeping the ball well but not really creating much ion front of goal. The QPR defence handled the threat of Blake and Ward very well.

Rangers were still causing trouble on the break and Gallen was unlucky not to score as Darren Peacock made a great diving tackle which saw the former QPR man injure himself and be taken off. Blackburn began to overrun QPR in midfield and the frustration showed from he stands as a torrent of abuse was thrown at Gallen whilst the main man giving the ball away was Richard Langley and he received nothing like the abuse Gallen got. Gallens game went to pot after an hour as he couldn't do anything right and was taken off for Steve Slade with 16 minutes left.

Slade made little impact. He did one good run but never looked like going anyway and seemed to greedy to pass to players in a better position. Gavin Peacock looked to have earned a penalty when he was chopped down in the box but a corner was given. Blackburn held on well and almost nicked the three points when a Blake header was brilliantly saved by Lee Harper.

A decent result for Rangers but the lack of strength shown in midfield was a worry to me anyway.

Man of the Match: Matthew Rose

Player by Player

13. Lee Harper : Did nothing wrong, made one great save but was never really tested due to some solid defending in front of him. 8/10

22. Jermaine Darlington : He played well for 70 minutes but found it hard late on as Blackburn doubled up on him. Played some nice crosses in the box but no one looked capable of taking advantage of these opportunities. 7/10

3 Ian Baraclough: Had a better game but was caught out once or twice at the back. 6/10

5. Karl Ready : Defensively he played well but his distribution was abysmal. 6/10

6. Danny Maddix : Same as Ready, played very well defensively and made hardly any errors but he gave the ball away too much 7/10 12. Matt Rose : Once again my man of the match, I thought he looked good today against some quality forwards. 9/10

27. Stuart Wardley : Tried his best and that's all I ask but he looked out of his depth at times and gave the ball away too much under pressure. 6/10

8. Gavin Peacock : He works hard every week but his distribution was poor and he made Gallen look stupid by calling for the ball and then running away from it on several occasions. 6/10

21. Richard Langley: Worst I have seen him play so far. Gave the ball away time and time again and he looked very short of confidence. The lack of movement by team-mates didn't help him though 5/10

10. Kevin Gallen: For 60 minutes he played very well but then it all went wrong. The crowd got on his back and his head seemed to go down. 6/10

11. Chris Kiwomya : Again I thought he was rubbish. Missed three sitters and seemed to be five yards behind Gallen/Slade all game leaving the team with very few options of where to put the ball. His place is under threat if we sign Ndah. 5/10

Subs

18. Steve Slade : I am not a Slade fan and he does nothing for me that would change a match. 5/10

23. Leon Jeanne: I don't think he touched the ball but that's not his fault 6/10
