A bad result for QPR despite a thrilling game. QPR took the lead early on. Paul Murray (back in the side for Kiwomya), placed his corner onto the head of Danny Maddix to score his fifth of the season.

Tranmere equalised despite QPR missing several chances. Twice Miklosko could only parry shots for Kenny Irons to equalise

QPR regained their lead after the break. Murray again did well to cross for sub Keith Rowland to tap into an empty net. Rowland was a replacement for Ian Baraclough who suffered an injury in the first half.

Tranmere then went on the attack and grabbed two quick goals. Bad Defending let Rangers down as they trailed for the first time in the match.

It ended 3-2 leaving Rangers without a win in 1999 despite this being the first league defeat since December.
