A
good result from QPR today and a decent performance. The match began
with the great news that Ludo had signed from West Ham which put
the crowd in a good mood.
We started off
the match with Sheron and Gallen up front but that changed after
30 seconds when Sheron just fell awkwardly and was taken off with
what looked like a hamstring injury, but I am not 100% sure on that.
Steiner was
brought on and his physical approach gave QPR more options up front.
We took the lead on 11 mins when Kevin Gallen did well to cross
and Paul Murrays shot went just over the line in a was it wasn't
it sort of goal. I couldn't see if it went in but the ref gave it
( the only thing he gave us all game) and Murray went berserk.
That goal lifted
Murray to produce his best performance for a long time. The second
goal was excellent. A great build up involving Murray, Baraclough
and Gallen ended with Gavin Peacock striking home from 20 yards
out. Rangers were looking very comfortable.
Norwich then
made a substitution and it changed the game. They dominated the
rest of the game without creating any real chances. Rangers had
a goal ruled out for offside after another brilliant passing move
and Karl Ready missed a great chance but was offside anyway.
Rob Steiner
was unlucky with a lob but it wasn't an easy win and QPR were relieved
to hear the final whistle. We defended very well and nobody (even
Ready) had a bad game. The players looked very pleased at the end.
Man of the
Match: Paul Murray
