Norwich 4

QPR 2

C.Bellamy (3) G.Peacock (pen)
M.Jackson M.Sheron

An amazing start to the game and a good display by QPR despite the score line.

Rangers started brightly with an early corner, which Norwich cleared and scored from, on the break. Craig Bellamy finishing off a neat move which also involved Darren Eadie.

QPR hit back straight away, Tony Scully ran through and was brought down by the keeper when he was clean through for a penalty. Amazingly the keeper was not sent off or even booked as Gavin Peacock scored the clubs second penalty away from Loftus Road in seven years.

Q.P.R.'s defensive problems showed up again with a nothing cross being turned into a penalty due to confusion between Harper and his defence. Bellamy scored it to make it 2-1. Another free kick saw the QPR defence all over the place and Matt Jackson struck home into an empty net.

Q.P.R. then dominated the rest of the half creating many chances through Tony Scully's work on the wing. Gallen went close with a solo effort and Rangers eventually got back into it with a goal from Mike Sheron. Good work by Gallen saw Sheron strike his first goal since April.

The second half began with a brilliant move which should have seen the score at 3-3 but for some last ditch defending by Matt Jackson. Norwich won the game when Craig Bellamy dived for another penalty and scored to make the final score 4-2.

Man of the Match: Tony Scully
