A
sell out crowd saw QPR battle well but again fail to collect any
points from an away game. Around 400 QPR were locked out after a
ticket shambles by both clubs.
On the pitch
Rangers started with Jeanne, Morrow and Ready back in the team in
place of Gallen, Rose and Rowland. Rangers started well and almost
went ahead when George Kulscar headed wide from a corner.
Then paul Murrays
free kick was met by Ipswich old Boy Chris Kiwomya who headed Rangers
into the lead. The 2000 travelling army went crazy with songs including,
"We're shit but we're beating you" and the Graham Rix song to the
250 school children walking around the pitch.
The lead didn't
last though as poor defending led to David Johnson heading home.
Rangers got back into the game and Ian Baraclough almost put us
ahead but his shot was well saved by Richard Wright.
The second half
began with a 15 minutue rendetion of Gerry Francis Blue and White
army as Rangers looked comftable and Ipswich appeared to run out
of ideas. The ref then gave a terrible decison (one of many) as
a free kick was given for what seemed a good tackle by Breacker.
Scowcroft scored
from the free kick and the game slipped away from Rangers. Another
set piece saw Miklosko fumble and Chris Holland fire home. Rangers
then appeared to lose heart but missed a few chances, Dowie went
close but a bad referee decsion cost Rangers badly.
Man of the
Match: Danny Maddix
