A comfortable
win for QPR in a real six pointer at Crewe. Due to real audio problems
the only report I have seen was on team talks page and as I don't
know anyone who went, I am writing this report based on what I have
read so sorry if it is not that accurate.
Crewe opened
the brighter, with a Shaun Smith free-kick from all of 35 yards
out whistling past Miklosko's right hand post. However, Rangers
were soon back in the groove which had brought them two successive
wins prior to this game.
Front men Kevin
Gallen and Mike Sheron looked in good form, with Gallen going close
to breaking the deadlock in the early exchanges. The striker had
an effort cleared off the line after rounding Alex keeper Kearton,
and moments later directed a free-header just wide of the upright.
The deadlock
was broken just after the half-hour, Gavin Peacock capitalising
after Richard Langley's through ball had caught out full-back Marcus
Bignott. Peacock shrugged off Bignott's challenge and fired home
with relative ease.
On 62 minutes,
Mike Sheron grabbed Rangers' second to put the game beyond Dario
Gradi's men. Gallen fired the ball into the area and with Sheron
seemingly beaten by the flight of the ball, he launched himself
into an over-head kick to fire past Kearton in what sounds like
a quality goal. (Sheron must stay?)
The win takes
us out of the bottom three but nowhere near safety or the playoffs
yet.
