Chris Plummer made his first start for two years. Rangers started well with Gavin Peacock going close early on before Matthew Rose had a shot blocked. Bury took the lead after good work by Nigel Jemson sent James in to but the Shakers in the lead. Rangers showed their battling qualities after that. Kevin Gallen had a goal disalowed for offside before Iain Dowie levelled the scores in the 66th minute. Both sides had chances to win the game but had to settle for a point Man of the Match: Gavin Peacock
