Bristol City 0

QPR 0

A poor game which earned QPR another point and keeps them unbeaten in the league in 1999. Rangers were without Matthew Rose so Karl Ready returned whilst Chris Kiwomya replaced Paul Murray.

Rangers started well with Iain Dowie forcing a good save out of the keeper. Kevin Gallen also had a shot saved before City took control. Ade Akinbyi hit the post as QPR looked very vulnerable at set pieces.

The second half was all Bristol City but an excellent performance by Danny Maddix and some solid defending by Plummer and Ready helped QPR hang on. City's best chance fell to Akinbyi whose free header went well wide whilst Danny Maddix turned away a brilliant cross when it looked like he would score an own goal.

Paul Murray and Tony Scully came on for the injured Antti Heinola and Chris Kiwomya and it was good work by Scully that almost earned QPR three points. His cross was met by Gallen who should have done better with the header.

QPR then had a blatant penalty appeal turned down in injury time but an away win would have been a little unfair. Gerry Francis will be happy with the draw but will be looking at other results tomorow to see how good or bad a result this was.

Man of the Match: Danny Maddix
