A
Win at last for Gerry Francis in his second spell in command. Once
again I couldn't make the match so I had to make do with ceefax
updates whilst watching Man Utd thrash some foreign team.
The delight
I felt was shared by all the other QPR fans in the world at seeing
us pull off of the bottom of the table. My Dad went to the match,
his views were that in the first half we were superb, going back
three years into a team which could pass to each other and look
like a football team.
Morrow and Rose
especially were a revelation but Ready is still shit. As for the
goals, well Debut boy Richard Langley got us underway after eleven
minutes with a well-taken goal inside the box.
Kevin Gallen
added a second before half time after a great move involving Sheron
and Murray. Barnsley got back into the game after some poor defending
after half time and went on to hit the woodwork a few times and
miss several good chances.
On another day
we would have lost 6-2 but today the team worked together and battled
for a well earned win. Barnsley were not better than us, it was
just that we went into our shells when they made it 2-1.
The down side
was injuries to Murray and Rose but in just over three weeks, Gerry
Francis has found a real football team from a rabble not fit for
Sunday league Football. Still loads to do but this could be the
start of a brighter future.
Man of the
Match: Steve Morrow
