A battling performance by QPR saw us lose out to a late goal.

Mike Sheron missed the match through injury and his replacement joined him on the sidelines in the first half. Rob Steiner was taken off with a chest injury to be replaced by Iain Dowie.

Barnsley had the better chances with Miklosko making some good saves. It was QPR who had the best chance of the first half though when Gavin Peacocks shot was blocked from eight yards out.

Barnsley were on top for most of the game, Darren Barnard and Craig Hignett both hit the woodwork before Miklosko parried another shot and Hignett touched home from close range for a deserved victory.

Without Steiner and Sheron, we lacked the killer instinct to get back into the game.
