So just twenty four hours after the World Cup final ended in disgrace for the Dutch and joy for the Spanish it was back to domestic action and a return for Neil Warnock and his QPR side. Rangers are on a mini tour of Cornwall at the moment with two games against non league opposition before a trip to face League Two Torquay on Friday.

The first game of the tour was against Tavistock AFC who are six leagues below the football league so this was never going to be the most taxing assignment for a strong QPR side but Neil Warnock must be delighted with the teams efforts as Rangers ran out eight nil winners.

It was a strong side to stat with in a 4-3-3 formation which saw Paddy Kenny start in goal and a back four of Clint Hill, Mikele Leigterwood, Fitz Hall and Kaspars Gorkss. The midfield three was Buzsaky, Faurlin and Derry whilst Clarke, Mackie and Helguson made up the front three.

Rangers got off to a dream start after a forceful run down the right straight from kick off by Leigterwood he found Buzsaky in the box who finished well after just twelve seconds. As you would expect it was all rangers and we went close to a second when Faurlin saw an effort tipped wide and Clarke headed just past the post.

The impressive Jamie Mackie then won a free kick on the edge of the box which Buzsaky took control and he produced a wonderful effort curling the ball into the top left hand corner leaving the keeper standing.

A third goal followed as Mackie's ball into the box was headed past the keeper by debutant Clint Hill before Mackie capped a good debut with a fourth goal curling into the bottom corner.

Warnock rang the changes at half time in an attempt to give different players a chance. Off went Kenny, Hill, Gorkss, Hall, Derry, Mackie and Helguson as Cerny, Ramage, Stewart, Josh Parker, Antonio German, Gary Borrowdale and Hogan Ephraim.

Rangers added four more goals in the second half. Hogan Ephraim looked to impress and scored after a neat one two with Clarke. Josh Parker got a first senior goal to make is six when he met a Borrowdale cross to head into the bottom corner. Player of the year Alejandro Faurlin made it seven with a shot from the edge of the box before Hogan Ephraim completed the scoring with a late strike.

The result is certainly a pleasing one for Rangers but one Warnock would have expected against a side ranked so low down in the league pyramid but eight goals against anyone is certainly a huge positive.

Warnock is expected to add at least two more strikers to the squad but will have been pleased with the performances of Mackie, Clarke and Buzsaky in particular who all looked very sharp.
