It was a long day for me and turned out to be a tough one for QPR as we made it three home wins in a row.
The day started for me in Paris as we got the train back home from Euro Disney first thing in the morning and by the time we got to the pub in Shepherds Bush I was ready for a nap rather than an afternoon of football.

I was soon woken up when the game started though as it turned out to be a far harder game than any of us expected. Rangers were unchanged from the side that won on Tuesday and for the first time in a while we attacked the Loft in the first half.

Rangers started the game quite brightly looking to get Vine on the ball as often as possible and get in behind the visitors back four but we were denied by the offside flag with the linesmen very eager it raise his flag in favour of Scunthorpe.

A needless foul by Fitz Hall gave Scunthorpe a free kick and they took full advantage. McCann stood over the ball and curled it round the wall into the bottom corner with Camp rooted to his spot. I thought Camp should have got down and saved it as the ball was hit on the side of the goal he was protecting. It was a similar free kick to the Drogba scored in the Carling Cup final a few weeks ago.

The goal woke Rangers up and we looked desperate to get back into the game. It was end to end stuff as Scunthorpe also looked to get forward and get a second goal.

Agyemang had the ball in the back of the net but was denied by the offside flag after Vines shot fell to Agyemang to tap in from close range. It looked a tight decision and the Rangers fans were becoming incensed with the referee for some pretty poor decisions going against us throughout the half.
We needed to keep our heads and we did this by continuing to play our game and were pretty patient knowing a chance would come. Vine and Buzsacky combined to create a chance for Delaney whose shot beat the keeper but went just wide of the post.

Agyemang was next to go close after Buzsacky turned Baraclough inside out and picked him out with a cross but his header was very well saved by the keeper.

The fans were getting anxious and we needed a goal before half time, when it came it was a pretty controversial one. Rowlands played a ball into Vine who ran into the box and was barged off the ball by the defender and the referee gave a penalty. It looked a very harsh decision from where I was and the Scunthorpe players were going mad at the referee. It was the first decision he'd given us all half and proved to be a key one.

Martin Rowlands put the ball down and plenty of moaning saw the penalty delayed and Rowlands had to replace the ball on the spot after complaints. He kept his nerve though and just walked up and placed the ball into the right hand corner for the equaliser.

At half time it was probably a fair score line but I could only see one winner from this game and really fancied us to go on and win the game.

We started the second half on the back foot though and almost conceded a second goal from a set piece but Horsfield's finish as a poor one.

Rangers continued to try and keep possession of the ball and work and opening. Rowan Vine was the man we looked to on the left and kept getting the ball to him where he poked and probed at the visitors defence and created one chance for Agyemang which was just wide of the post. Leigterwood then volleyed a chance wide and it was becoming frustrating for Rangers.

Scunthorpe put everyone behind the ball and were time wasting with half an hour to go which was becoming frustrating. Hall and Connolly were both booked as the game became quite scrappy and we really needed to get Buzsacky into the game who was becoming starved of the ball out on the right wing.

With twelve minutes to go we finally got the goal we deserved and it came from a moment of magic from Buzsacky. Vine found Buzsacky in the middle and he played a one two with Agyemang before picking out a perfect defence splitting pass through to Agyemang who smashed the ball into the top corner of the net. The crowd erupted and celebrated a massive goal for Rangers which effectively won us the game.

Rangers then for some reason stopped attacking and looked to hold onto the lead and against a side as poor as Scunthorpe that was disappointing to see. The visitors rarely looked to have any idea of how to break us down but the deeper we sat the more trouble we brought onto ourselves.

De Canio brought on Gavin Mahon to replace Buzsacky and Scunthorpe almost equalised when a ball into the box was flapped at by Camp and the ball fell to a forward who looked to have an open goal but delayed his shot and gave Camp a chance to recover and he ended up making a very good save.
This woke Camp up and he then came out and claimed two crosses into the box with ease but we were making the final minutes far harder than they needed to be.

We did manage a third goal though during injury time to seal the win. Leigterwood took the ball down the left wing and played it back to Rowlands who found Vine after a slip by Baraclough and he took a touch before lifting the ball over the keeper into the back of the net for goal number seven of the season.

That was game over and in the 3-1 was probably a fair reflection of the game.
I thought it was a good test for us for what will be awaiting us next season. We went behind for a change at home so had to chase the game and were up against a side who put men behind the ball and would have been delighted with a point.

We needed to be patient and keep playing our game and I thought we did that pretty well. 3-1 was a fair result in the end and I think even at 1-1 I could see us creating a chance to win it.

Buzsacky looked a different class every time he got on the ball but we didn't get it too him enough. Vine also looked good on the left and was at the heart of all of our best football. Rowlands was strong in the middle and the back four played pretty well as well. On the downside I thought Camp should have saved the goal and Blackstock tried hard but was pretty poor I thought.

The referee and linesmen were awful throughout and I thought the penalty for us was very harsh. We should have had one earlier though when the defender had Blackstock by the throat in the box from a free kick and he ignored it.

All in all though another good result and we have reached the 50 point mark before Easter which didn't look very likely just a few months ago. Now the big test comes in can we get results away from home starting at Wolves next weekend.
