A hard fought point for Rangers which sees us move up one place edge closer to saftey for another season.

Here are the views of two QPR fans who made the trip to Barnsley from the QPR Mailing List

Dave Thomas

Unbelievable. I mean, just totally unbelieveable. I have just read exactly the same thing on both Ceefax and Teletext.

Let's get it straight. Barnsley had one very good chance in the first-half, when their guy headed against the post when he should have scored really. And they finished the half with two or three corners in succession, and briefly began to get back into a game that for 35 minutes or so had been played mostly in their own half. For anyone to watch that entire half and decide that Barnsley were "all over us" is utter nonsense.

I didn't speak to anyone at half-time who wasn't more than satisfied with our approach to the game, how we were competing, the football we were playing in difficult conditions, and the way we were dominating the game. That's not hooped vision - that's how it was.

If anything - and again this is contrary to the Ceefax's view that "we fought back well in the second-half" (or words to that effect), the game opened up, second-half, and both sides had chances. I'd give Barnsley credit here for having the better of them, but it was a game that always threatened a winner - either way.

It was very frustrating to watch at times, because of the way the high wind was making life difficult for players. Buzsaky was poor, as was Leigertwood. But to focus on the negatives would be to do as much a disservice to the team as the so-called neutral reports. Neither player hid - and there was some good, solid performances from Camp, from Mancienne, from Connolly and Hall, especially from Delaney and Rowlands, from Blackstock (for an hour), and from Agyemang. We did lose our way a bit towards the end - but don't form the impression that we were second best, because we weren't.

Forgot to mention Balanta, who showed some lovely touches, was unlucky not to score when going around the keeper and having his angled shot saved by a last-gasp block (Balanta did everything right). He is looking better with each game and, although taken off midway through the second-half, was another QPR plus point on the night.

I thought Connolly and Mancienne did very well in fact the hole back four and camp did a sterling job in keeping barnsley out in very difficult conditions, one last ditch tackle by Connolly was exceptional. Our best spells of play in the last couple of games have come with Mancienne bringing the ball out which he is starting to do more often.

It was an evening where many passes went astray, some of which was down to conditions but I thought our passing in midfield let us down a bit the players seem to be a bit low on confidence, Di Canio has mentioned this before a few weeks ago, when the team are in the right mind set we look a good team at this level and everything looks rosy but we cant seem to sustain that for more than 5 minutes unless we actually score in that time. This is something that I am sure can be improved

It was a nasty old night and on so many other occasions we have rolled over in such matches, the point gained tonight was well earned and part of our continued steady improvement
