After an improved midweek performance against Plymouth Rangers were unchanged for the visit of Norwich City.

Rumour before the game had it that Richard Langley had stormed out of the stadium after being told he wouldn't be on the bench. The truth was later revealed as far less exciting as Langley walked out of the ground to make a private phone call and later returned to watch the match.

The pre match was quite an interesting affair as Ian Holloway confronted a QPR fan. During the warm up Langley was seen to be having heated discussion with Holloway on the pitch and a fan in the Upper loft shouted "Don't worry Rich, He won't be here much longer". Holloway was understandably a bit pissed off by this and walked up to the Upper Loft and discussed the absence of Langley with the fan which was due to a slight knock to Royce meaning we needed a sub keeper on the bench. Plus a slight calf strain means Langley is not fully fit.

Credit to Holloway for facing up to the fan in question and despite being under enormous pressure from the fans at the moment he still remains one of the most approachable managers in the game.

So with the ground buzzing with several rumours about the manager and Richard Langley the teams came onto the pitch with Rangers looking relaxed and confident.

The players shared a joke as Gallen again lost the toss but the team were able to stay as they were and attack the Loft in the second half.

Norwich kicked off and Rangers were quickly getting about the opposition, closing them down quickly and getting forward at every opportunity. Doherty and Bircham were fierce in the tackle whilst Dyer was linking well with Cook on the left.

Norwich looked lively in attack but poor defensively and Cook tested Robert Green early on with a long-range free kick. Rangers were looking lively and took the lead after just eleven minutes.

It was a well-worked goal as Lee Cook got down the line and put in an excellent cross, Gallen showed great awareness to head back across goal for Marc Nygaard to finish it off and get his third goal five starts.

The chance was more difficult than it looked and Nygaard did very well to get on the score sheet.

Rangers continued to press but the visitors were not going to lay down. Dean Ashton was a threat but fortunately for us he spent more time moaning about his shirt being pulled than trying to get his team back in the game.

The pace of Huckerby was a threat and he helped create a good chance for Henderson who had space in the box but his shot was well blocked by Dyer and away for a corner.

Norwich's frailties at the back were again exposed a few minutes later. Rangers won a free kick on the right and Lee Cook showed again how good he can be from this position. He curled in an excellent cross for Paul Furlong to flick on past Green into the bottom corner. It was a goal Rangers needed and Paul Furlongs first goal at Loftus Road this season.

After losing 4-2 in the week to Luton the week wasn't getting any better for Nigel Worthington's men.

Rangers were dealt a blow when Marc Nygaard limped off with a hamstring injury. Dean Sturridge replaced him and had a decent game linking well with Furlong throughout.

Marcus Bignot found himself booked after Tom Doherty fouled Huckerbby and the ref booked the wrong man but it didn't cost us too much as the free kick was fired well wide. Rangers were knocking the ball around well and looked a real threat.

We had to make a second change though when Bircham limped off with a back injury.

Georges Santos replaced him and unfortunately some QPR fans booed him. Whatever you think of Georges Santos booing him is bang out of order. He always gives his best and it didn't take long before he made the boo boys look stupid.

A Kevin Gallen corner on the left was half cleared for Santos and the big defender/midfielder and part time striker fired in a cracking volley from the edge of the box to make it 3-0.

It was all quite surreal but as the half time whistle went Rangers were 3-0 up and were slaughtering a stunned Norwich side.

Norwich obviously don't like trips to West London. In the last year they've lost 4-0 to Chelsea, been relegated with a 6-0 defeat at Fulham and now a QPR side who hadn't scored more than two goals in a game since March were 3-0 up at half time. No wonder a fair new Norwich fans left at the interval.

The second half was never going to match the first and Ranger's fell into the trap that most sides do after a great first half and were caught between keeping it tight and going for a fourth goal and not really doing either very well.

A better side may have punished us but for all Norwich's possession the defence held firm with Evatt and Shittu in excellent form. Sturridge and Evatt had chances to extend our lead. Sturridge shot was blocked and Evatt fired in the rebound, which was well blocked by Gary Doherty's testicles.

Norwich were starting to have a few chances but Royce made an excellent save from Ashton whilst Dean Marney was well off target with the rebound.

Darren Huckerbby was having a good go at hitting the scoreboard and got closer with every attempt but in the end couldn't manage to hit the board instead giving the fans behind the goal a few chances to throw the ball back to Royce.

The QPR fans were in good voice and giving Delia Smith plenty of stick as the second half proved to be a dull affair.

Royce got the fans out of their seats with another brilliant save from a deflected Dean Ashton shot. Rangers had a few late chances to get a fourth goal.

Sturridge found Furlong with a nice pass but he fired over the bar whilst Doherty found himself clean through but looked confused as to what he should do and ended up making a hash of the chance. It was the only thing he did wrong all game in one of his best performances so far for Rangers.

Gareth Ainsworth replaced Lee Cook with a few minutes left which saw Georges Santos play on the left wing! Ainsworth had then ball in the net from a Gallen corner but it was ruled out for a push on the keeper.

Furlong had another late chance to get his second goal after a lovely pass from Doherty but he couldn't keep his shot down.

So in the end an easy win for Rangers against a side many (including me) tipped to win the league this season. Norwich were woeful in the first half but credit to Ian Holloway's men for making them pay and taking the chances that came our way. Several players had excellent games. The back four were all in top form with Lloyd Dyer ending his loan spell with his best performance so far.

Tom Doherty was outstanding in central midfield whilst lee Cook again created plenty on the left creating two of the three goals. Kevin Gallen had another good game on the right whilst Furlong, Nygaard and Sturridge all caused problems for the visitors defence.

Still plenty to improve on but you can't argue with a 3-0 home win over Norwich and the pressure on Ian Holloway should be eased for a few weeks. Rangers now face two tough away games but if we can build on the last two performances then we have a decent chance of getting some good results.
