Rangers and Brighton played
out a 0-0 draw at Loftus Road this afternoon with the visitors
going the closest to taking the points. Both keepers produced
vital saves to ensure their teams picked up an important point.
In the first half, the on-loan Simon Royce denied Rangers when
Danny Shittu rose to meet Danny Murphy's corner and saw his
header pushed away.
In the second
half, Royce pulled off another good save when he dived to his
left to tip away Doudou's shot at his near post, while at the
other end Fraser Digby saved his side by blocking Bobby Zamora's
shot with his legs after the Brighton striker had managed to
break free of the Rangers defence.
Andy Thomson
missed Rangers' best chance of the game when the ball ran kindly
for him inside the area and he scuffed his effort straight into
the arms of Royce. But it was The Seagulls who came closest
to taking all three points. Paul Watson's curling free-kick
from the left struck the bar, while Danny Cullip's late header
was hacked off the line by substitute Karl Connolly.
