A Strange atmosphere today very quiet but plenty of Gerry Francis b&W army and we love you Gerry which was expected. I tried singing someone else blue and white army but no one seemed to join in so I stayed quiet after that.

As for the game well we started 4-4-2 with Ready in for Morrow and Perry in for Baraclough and Barnsley played some neat football but didn't create to much apart from a couple of crosses which caused us some panic. We didn't look to great either but as the half wore on we began to look better.

We should have been ahead when a free kick was floated in and the Barnsley defence all ran out as one to play us offside. Ready timed his run well and was onside as he volleyed into the net from 25 yards out. A screamer of a goal but Kiwomya (who was running backwards so not offside) was given offside. An amazing decision and I was more gutted as for the first time this season I had many a great prediction by turning to my g/f saying far post Ready 1-0 and the bloody linesman robbed me of looking clever.

The first Goal came on half time, a corner from Connolly was headed goalwards by Ready and Kiwomya flicked it in. After half time Barnsley brought on Dyer and he almost scored early on as we started the second half as we always do when we are winning. i.e. not very well

We got the second from a corner again by Connolly and Crouch headed in. After that it was all over, Barnsley were poor and we still managed to make it look difficult at times but overall a very satisfying game.

Rumours seem to be that Ian Holloway was in the Directors Box today and he has been interviewed along with two others and three more interviews are set for tomorrow. My guess is the six are Dowie, Holloway, Graydon, Rix, Coppell and Basset but we will soon know.
