8. Daniel Nardiello

Daniel Nardiello joined QPR on a free transfer in June 2007.

Nardiello turned down the chance to sign for his boyhood club Coventry to join Rangers as John Gregory sold the clubs ambition to him during the summer.

Nardiello began his career at Manchester United where he made just one appearance for them in the League Cup. He spent much of his time at old Trafford being sent on loan where he had a decent spell at Swansea before the first of two loan moves to Barnsley. After two years on loan at Barnsley he made the move to Oakwell with a free transfer in 2004 and by the time he left the club last summer he had scored 28 goals for the Yorkshire club.

His goals helped them to promotion in 2006 when he scored the equaliser in the playoff final against Swansea. Last season his goals towards the end of the season, including the winner against Birmingham, helped Barnsley to stay up. He was offered the chance to stay but choose instead to move to West London.

So far the move has not gone well. Nardiello has struggled with back and hamstring injuries and despite looking decent in his four starts for the club his future appears to lie elsewhere and he has yet to score for QPR. He recently returned to Barnsley on loan and is unlikely to play for us again.
