Michael Mancienne joined QPR on loan from Chelsea in October 2006.

Mancienne made his debut as a substitute at Sheffield Wednesday before earning his first start in the 3-3 draw at West Brom.

It took Mancienne a few games to settle into the side but during December he produced some outstanding performances. Mancienne started the month at right back where he looked comfortable but it was the switch to move him into the middle which has changed many peoples opinion of him.

Compared to John Terry when he arrived the comparison looked more likely with him in the middle as he dominated in the air and read the game well to held Rangers keep a clean sheet against Barnsley and keep things tight against league leaders Birmingham.

His performances continued to improve and he ended the season as runner up for the young player of the year award. He returned to Loftus Road in July 2007 for a season long loan deal.

He has spent most of this season at right back before injury saw him miss the final few weeks of 2007. he has been back in the side since January at right back and looks to have a big future ahead of him when he returns to Chelsea in the summer.
