Mikele Leigterwood joined QPR from Sheffield
United in August 2007 for £900,000. At the time that was the
highest fee paid by QPR for a player for ten years.
Leigterwood made his debut against Southampton
on an emotional day and didn't have the best of starts. Many fans
had already written him off before he'd finished his second game
of the season before he smashed in a goal of the month against Leicester.
His performance began to improve as he got used to his new club
and when De Canio came in Leigterwood was playing some brilliant
stuff. He was winning tackles in midfield and passing the ball with
great authority and technical ability.
Leigterwood scored another brilliant
goal against Hull City and he has not scored any tap ins for us
with all his goals so far being fantastic finishes from outside
the box which have helped win me a few first and last goalscorers
bets.
After his rocky start at QPR Leigterwood
has quickly won the fans round and shown on his day he can be a
key player for the team.
