Hogan Ephraim came through the youth team ranks at West Ham bit got most of his first team football on loan at Colchester where he helped the Essex side to the highest league position in the clubs history in 2007.
Ephraim opted to move to QPR on loan in August 2007 and made his debut up front as a substitute in the 2-2 draw with Bristol City. Ephraim was used mainly as a winger in his loan spell at the club playing on both the left and the right wing.
He scored his first goal for the club against Colchester in October. Ephraim was impressing the fans with his non stop work rate and his ability on the ball. His best performance came in the last game of his loan spell where he scored an excellent individual goal against Hull City.
He went back to West Ham where his first team chances were limited although he did make the first team squad for the game against Derby. In January 2008 Ephraim signed a three year contract at QPR in a deal said to worth £800,000.
Under Paulo Sousa Ephraim moved to be more of a central midfield player and showed great versatility in the role and was touted as a future England player. Ephraim struggled to get much of a look in when Magilton arrived in 2009 and was loaned out to Leeds United where he helped keep them in the automatic promotion picture.
He returned to QPR and became more of a regular under Neil Warnock where his hard work down both flanks helped the team stay up and he kept his place in the side at the start of this season. He started well combining to great effect with Taarabt and Mackie but he lost his place in the side after a few quiet games in October and struggled to get back in.
To his credit though Ephraim continued to work hard and show a great attitude and when required came back into the side and never let us down, he scored a vital goal away at Doncaster and will be hoping to prove himself at the top level next season.
