QPR signed Hull City defender Damien
Delaney on a three and a half year deal.
Delaney has signed for an undisclosed
fee which is rumoured to be £600,000 and will rise to £1.2million
dependent on future success.
Delaney has been a regular at Hull over
the last few years helping them to back to back promotions and has
been a regular this season for the mid table side.
Delaney can play at left back or as
a central defender and is expected to make his debut against Barnsley
on Saturday as a left back.
Delaney's arrival has been met with
a mixed reaction among supporters with Hull City fans sounding delighted
with the fee they have managed to get.
Delaney is a decent defender though
and quickly became a fans favourite with his solid defending and
attacking instincts.
Delaney looking more than useful at
left back with solid defending and an enthusiasm to get forward
and support the attack.
He did so well that he won a call up
to the Republic of Ireland squad and made his debut for his country
in May 2008.
This season Delaney has been a regular
again at left back but has struggled to produce the same form he
did last year but continues to be a key player for QPR.
