Radek Cerny joined QPR on a free transfer in the summer of 2008.

Radek turned professional in 1993 as a 17-year-old with Slavia Prague.

Cerný did not get a chance to play for Slavia in the early years of his career, having been loaned out to three different Czech clubs and not returning until 1997, when he finally made his debut.

Cerny made over 150 appearances for Slavia winning two domestic cup competitions and three caps for the Czech Republic.

He joined Spurs on an 18 month loan in January 2005 which was extended to the end of last season. Cerny made his debut at White Hart Lane against Aston Villa in a game they won 5-1. He got his chance in the Spurs goal last season in the Carling Cup semi final where he had an excellent game and managed to keep out Paul Robinson. Cerny helped Spurs to the cup final but was dropped for the game at Wembley after a poor performance in the UEFA cup.

He made the move to QPR in the summer in search of first team football and made his debut against Barnsley in the opening day of the season. Cerny didn't win over fans straight away with some erratic displays in goal but he has begun to improve and has made the goalkeepers shirt his own.

Cerny's form improved in October when he was excellent in the draws with Swansea and Reading and produced some vital stops in the win over Birmimgham.

He built on a good month with some outstanding displays in November the best of them at Old Trafford where he almost single handidly kept us in the game.

He won player of the Month award in November and December and was quickly becoming a very popular player behind a strong back four as he established himself as the first choice keeper at QPR on merit.

His excellent first season saw him earn a new two year contract in the summer of 2009.

In 2009/10Cerny again started the season well as a safe pair of hands behind the back four but injuries and a loss of form to the defence saw him begin to make mistakes and after a 3-2 defeat to Sheffield United he was dropped from the side and finally able to get some rest.

He took the opportunity to overcome a back problem and returned to the side at the end of the season where he conceded just two goals in the teams final five games of the season.

He spent this season as a back up keeper to Paddy Kenny but came in for the final two games of the season and kept a clean sheet in the vital title winning game at Watford.
