Akos Buzsaky joined QPR initially on loan in November 2007 before signing a three and a half year contract in January 2008.

Buzsaky made his name in Portugal under Jose Mourinhio at Porto. He played for the B Team in Porto and made a handful of appearances for the former European Champions. Like Mourinhio he made the move to England but Plymouth was his destination rather than London.

He joined Tony Pullis side on loan at first before signing a two year deal in the summer of 2006 when Ian Holloway took over at Home Park. Buzsaky was known at Plymouth for his skill on the ball and he made himself known to QPR fans when he smashed in a brilliant goal against us during a 1-1 draw. He also fired in some special free kicks from distance but found himself out of favor this season.

He made the loan move to QPR amid fears that his contract would run out and the club would lose him on a free transfer. Plymouth's loss was our gain and so far he looks a snip at £500,000.

He impressed in his debut for QPR and scored his first goal a few days later with a long range effort against Coventry. He continued to win affection among QPR fans with some scintillating performances in midfield where he played with a grace and elegance rarely seen in the Championship. His eye for a goal continued as fans quickly learnt he doesn't do tap ins. Any of his five goals in December could have won the goal of the month award such was the quality of his strikes.

Buzsaky can play as a central midfield player of in a free role behind the strikers but since the turn of the new year he has found himself playing on the right wing.

He suffered a big blow in the cup game at Man Utd suffering a knee injury which will rule him out for the next eight months so best of luck to Akos in his recovery.
