19. Aaron
Brown
Aaron Brown joined
QPR on a free transfer in March 2005 after training with the club all season.
Brown had been at Bristol City for his entire career scoring 12 goals in 189 appearances
and producing some eye-catching performances. Brown was a key member of the Bristol
City side, which pushed us so close to promotion last year until injury ended
his season. Aaron Brown suffered a broken leg after a 50/50
tackle with the then Rushden and Diamonds defender, Marcus Bignot. Brown was ruled
out for the rest of the season and decided to try his luck at QPR after Ian Holloway
made it clear he wanted the player. Brown trained with QPR
whilst he completed his rehab from a broken leg, which took far longer than expected.
After a few games in the reserves Ian Holloway decided that he would make the
move permanent much to the relief of the player himself. After
making the move permanent, Aaron Brown said: "It's been frustrating and I was
struggling but Ian Holloway has shown so much faith in me," he said. I was a little
sluggish in the first few reserve games but I'm getting my sharpness back now.
The lads have done brilliantly, but I think I can fit in there. It's up to Ollie
now but if I could get one game this season I'd be delighted." Ian
Holloway sees him as a key player for next season so has agreed to let the player
move to Torquay United for the rest of the season. Due to an injury crisis though
he returned in April and made his debut for QPR as a sub against Wigan.
