Gary Borrowdale joined QPR for an undisclosed
fee through top be around £400,000 in January 2009.
Borrowdale is a left back who started
his career at Crystal Palace before enjoying a good spell at Coventry
until losing his place earlier this season.
His signing is seen as a strange one
as the left back joined on loan in November 2008 but did not feature
once under Paulo Sousa but a clause in his loan deal meant QPR had
to buy the player in January and he signed without kicking a ball
for QPR.
He was been linked with a move away
from QPR on loan to Southend which left more questions and than
answers about the clubs transfer policy rather than Gary Borrowdale's
ability. He left on loan to Brighton and failed to play a single
minute for QPR in the 2008/09 season.
He finally made his debut in August
2009 in the home match against Blackpool and was a regular at left
back under Jim Magilton until poor form saw him sent on loan to
Charlton in March 2010.
