Angelo Balanta has come through the youth ranks at QPR playing at under 18, reserve and now first team level.

Balanta impressed in the under 18's this season scoring eight goals in eleven games. At reserve level he also impressed scoring three goals in seven games and De Canio saw enough to be impressed and hand him a first team debut in December as a late substitute against Crystal Palace.

Balanta made his first start as a left winger at Watford and he created two goals in an impressive 4-2 win. Balanta also got on as a substitute at Chelsea which must have been a big boost for the youngster.

His first home start came in February as Balanta scored in a 1-1 draw with Sheffield United. He can play on the left wing or up front where his pace and awareness have already helped him stand out and he looks to have a good future ahead of him.

Last season he started well scoring twice in two starts for the first team before being loaned out to Wycombe where he helped the League side to promotion.
