Patrick Agyemang joined QPR for a fee
said to be around £300,000 from Preston in January 2008.
Many questioned the move after his lack
of goals at Preston this season but he made a blistering start to
his QPR career. He went close to scoring against
Chelsea as a substitute before making his full debut at Sheffield
united. Agyemang (nicknamed Dave due to the difficulty in spelling
Agyemang) scored at Brammel Lane and never looked back.
He scored on his
home debut against FA Cup semi Finalists Barnsley and made it three
goals in three games with another goal at Cardiff.
Agyemang made it five goals in four
games with a double against league leaders Bristol City before his
amazing run continued with another two goals at Southampton. He
scored yet again against Burnley to make it eight goals in six games
before the goals inevitably dried up.
Agyemang has continued to play a big
role for Rangers and has been developing his all round game. His
first touch can be exceptional and Hz pace is frightening. Agyemang
scored his ninth goal of the season against Scunthorpe before a
hamstring injury picked up at Hull ruled him out for the final few
games of the season.
